Biography:
Gordon Freeman is the silent protagonist of the *Half-Life* video game series. He first appeared in *Half-Life*, released in 1998.
Dr. Freeman is a theoretical physicist who earned a PhD from MIT. Prior to the events of *Half-Life*, he worked as a research associate at the Black Mesa Research Facility. He's often referred to as a 'Theoretical Enthusiast' by in-game characters.
The initial game sees Freeman involved in a teleportation experiment gone wrong, causing a dimensional rift and unleashing alien creatures upon the facility. This leads him on a journey to close the rift and survive, eventually becoming a key figure in the resistance against the Combine alien empire in subsequent games.
